Litecontrol Quality Assurance
At Litecontrol we do everything we can to ensure that you get the color you want. We cut wait time by utilizing three state-of-the-art painting systems. Two high-efficiency powder painting systems-one for fixture interiors and parts and one for long fixture housings; and an automated Ransburg Twin Turbodisk™ solvent-based system to ensure consistent coverage and finish of fixture exteriors. Exterior finishes are checked to guarantee quality and color validity. Each fixture then undergoes a comprehensive inspection before it is packaged and shipped. That's only the beginning of what we'll do to be sure you're satisfied.
Custom Colors
Although our standard palette offers a full range of shades to choose from, we realize that sometimes you may require a particular color outside of these choices. All that we ask is that you provide us a one square inch color swatch, and you can be assured of a match. The custom color will be reproduced with a
semi-gloss finish to our specifications by our qualified paint manufacturer.
Specifications
Material: Alkyd-amine electrostatic high-solids baking enamel for both solvent-based and powder systems. Surface preparation: Conveyorized spray four-stage detergent/phosphate, rinse, non-chromate final seal, dryoff oven, pre-paint process.
Application: The solvent-based system uses a Twin electrostatic Ransburg Turbodisk on reciprocators, and Ransburg electrostatic air atomizing hand guns for touch-up, when required. The powder system uses a combination of automatic and manual electrostatic guns.
Curing: Oven-cured to paint manufacturer's specifications at 300°F for the solvent-based system and 390°F for the powder system.
Finish requirements: Gloss-As specified by Litecontrol standards using 60
degree gloss meter. CBC: 14±5 gloss units. Silvers: 62±5 gloss units. Remaining shades, including custom colors: 20±5 gloss units. Dry film thickness-1.1 to 1.5 mils. Adhesion-No squares to be removed in 1/16" X 100 cross-hatch method. Flexibility-No visible cracking when test panel is bent rapidly over 1/4" diameter mandrel. Film hardness-2H pencil test.
Ordering Information
To specify, add the three-letter code to the fixture catalog number. Matte White (CWM) is the standard exterior finish unless otherwise noted on the fixture data sheet. If you haven't decided which Litecolor to use, add the suffix CXX. For custom colors, add the code CXY to the order and furnish a color swatch that
is at least one square inch in size.
