How should Wall/Slot be laid out with corners? Q: What size spaces can I light with a cove product? A: For uniform light levels, the room width should not exceed 6 times the distance from the top of the cove to the ceiling for a one-wall application. For a 2-wall application, the room width should not exceed 12 times the distance from the top of the cove to the ceiling. back to top Q: How should Cove-25 or Cove-30 be laid out with corners? A: Cove fixtures are designed to be stopped 6” to 9” short of the corner or end wall, to avoid excessive brightness in the corner. back to top Q: How close to the ceiling can indirect fixtures be mounted? A: Litecontrol’s LCI is the only indirect fixture in the industry that can be mounted as close as 9” from the ceiling in a 2-lamp cross-section. Typically, the following minimum dimensions from the ceiling are appropriate: 12” for a 2-lamp T8 or T5; 15-18” for a 3-lamp T8; 15” for a 1-lamp T5HO; 18-24” for a 2-lamp T5HO. A: Row spacing is dependent upon the number of lamps in cross-section and the footcandle requirement for the particular space. Typical row spacing may be from 10 to 15 feet apart, depending on the fixture efficiency, lamp type, and application.
