FAQs: Installation
What types of feed cord are available? Are system connectors available for Litecontrol’s pendant hung fixtures? What type of mounting is available for pendant fixtures? Q: Why does Litecontrol recommend the use of wall brackets with wall-mounted products? A: Even the best drywall contractor does not make a perfectly straight wall. Steel or extruded fixtures are perfectly straight. If mounted directly to the wall, the irregularities of the wall will be emphasized and, in the worst cases, the fixtures will not join properly in rows. back to top Q: What types of feed cord are available? A: Flexible white straight cord, 18/3 or 18/4, provided in bulk for a project. White coiled cord, 18/3 or 18/4, 12” to 6’ maximum, provided as individual cords. back to top Q: Are system connectors available for Litecontrol’s pendant hung fixtures? A: Yes, corners to join fixtures at 90° or 135°; 90° crosses; or 90° tees are standard for most pendant-mounted products. Custom corners are also available. See Technical Sheet for the particular product for specifications. back to top Q: What type of mounting is available for pendant fixtures? A: Cable is 3/32” galvanized steel. Cables are available in fixed length, semi-adjustable (1” adjustment) or field adjustable. Fixed length cables are the least labor intensive if the fixture to top-of-ceiling-dimension is known. Fixed length 5/8” diameter stems are also available. Many local codes require stems at feed locations. Both stems and cables are available for sloped ceiling conditions. back to top |
