The Litewave HE is a recessed enclosed luminaire that boasts efficiencies of over 80% in many configurations. Litewave HE provides diffuse lighting from a one-piece extruded acrylic lens with sloped sides and a rectilinear central section that adds interest and visual appeal. We can take orders and ship product now for the 2x2 and 2x4 sizes, with the 1x4 version available in July 2011 (contact the factory for 1x4 availability for specific project needs). All sizes are available with 1, 2 and 3 lamp T8, T5 and T5HO lamps. LiteSpeed is available for the 2x2 and 2x4 in units of 50 or less. Larger quantities may be available in LiteSpeed, please ask for specific projects. For complete details go to the Litewave HE product page at litecontrol.com.
While optical techniques such as our Luminance Control Deflector help to mitigate socket shadows in fixtures that illuminate surfaces (such as our Cove and Wall/Slot families), these techniques are not available for direct fixtures such as our pendant, recessed and wall Mods. Instead, we are now providing two different ways for designers to minimize the impact of the lamp sockets in Mod fixtures. First, we have formalized our approach to staggering the lamp socket positions, building on the many “special” projects we have completed in recent years. Our staggered lamp Mods provide the ability for us to vary the overlaps so that we can provide the length of fixture that is needed for the project. We send the designer a detailed layout that shows the lamp lengths used, the overlaps and the ballast locations to help avoid confusion or surprises. We have added a detailed section to the Technical Sheet for our pendant-mounted Mod 44 , and we will be similarly updating the Recessed and Wall Technical Sheets in the next few weeks. We can provide the same capabilities for Mod 66 fixtures and will post those details soon as well. Your Customer Service representative can help ensure your staggered lamp project is ordered correctly.
LightFair 2011 provided a new approach for dealing with socket shadows. OSRAM SYLVANIA announced their new T5 and T5HO Seamless lamp types (designated as SLS). These unusual lamps, (shown here), allow for continuous lines of light that are not broken by the lamp sockets. We were proud to have a Litecontrol pendant-mounted Mod 44 with the SLS lamps on display in the Sylvania booth at LightFair, and we are now offering these lamps as an option in our Mod 44 and 66 fixtures. We have updated the Technical Sheet for our pendant-mounted Mod 44 to show the SLS lamp. We put this into a separate section of the Technical Sheet because the fixture lengths will not be standard, since we wanted to take advantage of the lamp geometry and provide end-to-end light in the fixtures. Sylvania has announced that the SLS HO lamps are available now, and the SLS HE lamps (High Efficiency, similar to standard T5) will be available in September. Revit Files The Revit files for Litewave HE are currently available at Autodesk Seek. |
