Geisinger Health System - Hood Center for Health Research

The newest addition to Geisinger Health System, Center for Health Research facility, is a 68,000 sf facility and links the Weis Research Facility with the main campus. "The building design expresses the idea of a crossroad, where research and practice intersect, and where ideas and knowledge can be shared and communicated to a larger group." (ewingcole.com)
This project received LEED NC Silver Certification for new construction and includes daylight modeling and solar simulation engineering. A daylight harvesting system is incorporated to reduce the energy and lighting loads required in the administrative areas. This is Geisinger’s first LEED certified project.
