No Greenwashing here!

I picked up a button from the Steelcase booth at Greenbuild 4 years ago, it reads, “Hug me I’m C2C”. I have the button hanging in front of my desk and I still get comments on that button and that sentiment. We just received our 5th C2C certificate via email this morning, knowing the hardwork and commitment that is necessary to own such a certificate makes me realize its value.
At Litecontrol, we say
that sustainability is part of our DNA and it's true. Litecontrol has experienced the Cradle to Cradle certification process and achieved the silver level for four years now. That certification applies to all fixtures manufactured in our Massachusetts-based factories. We were the first lighting company to achieve this certification, standing alongside companies such as Steelcase, MechoSystems and Herman Miller. Better yet, we were the first company to gain this status for almost our entire product line. There is no question when a designer chooses our fixtures that they are working toward achieving sustainable design goals.
Litecontrol has truly been environmentally aware since it opened its doors in 1936. Both of our buildings are nestled amongst cranberry bogs, conservation land and family-populated neighborhoods, areas where environmental abuse won't be tolerated. We don’t discharge rinse water into the surrounding soil, we use only non-VOC emitting paint, and any scrap steel and aluminum is recycled. This certification is proof to this industry that we aren't just talk.
